Award/Medal Question

I'm a little bit confused with the Army Commendation Medals. They are based on hours of play time right? Only references I found said the basic A.C. Medal was awarded for 240 hours of play time which should mean 240 x 60 = 14440 min.

On my BHD novaworld stats I have just over 7500 minutes played, which means that I should be around halfway to recieving the first A.C. medal. But I find that I have already earned the Army Commendation Medal (remember the 14440 min.?).

So what is the correct formula to determine when the A.C. medals are awarded?
