Sound Problem

ive just noticed this when i tried out FEAR COMBAT on the second time i joined a server, no sound at all, NONE! i was watching that mr. safety vid but no sound, JO sound works, and windows media player works but i dont know whats going on. help peez

turn EAX off in the option if you can.

but other than that i don't really know. i heard there was a problem since the latest patch came out for the full game, seeing as they are both the same version they hopefully there will be a anew patch out soon. would be worth checking the official fear forum

I tried EAX on and off

Open up My Computer
Open up C drive, then Program Files, then Sierra, then FEAR Combat
In that folder there should be the file "WMFAdist"

Install that file, then play the game.

RE-install your sound* drivers

use directx sound if possible.

LoL did you try to find the drivers that came with your Comp? or your Soudn device?

I clicked "update drivers" but its been sitting there with the magnifying glass over a computer icon for 10 min b4 showing up empty handed

no your drivers should come on a CD or Floppy Drive

well... in a strange twist of events, my brother comes home and installs those drivers, nothing, does a virus check, around 200 infected items :O cleaned, still nothing, next day before i go to school, no sound, my bro is still homw while i go to school, i dont know what he did but now the sound works only half way, window media player works but not google vids.

thats how its been goin since it started to screw up

Did you try a system restore to the last date everything worked???

No, how do i do that?

Start>Programs Files>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore {open it up}

you will have two option to pick from:
1.) restore my computer to a earlier time.
2.) Create a restore point

check the option 1 above
then pick a date to restore were you think it was running 100% great.

then press "next" below

it will reboot the system and as it close down it will start to restore the system then.

now when it bootup it may hang a bet leave it be! let it do it thing totally.

before you get back to desktop it will ether say it restore the system or not able to restore it.

by some reason if it can't restore the system you have to check things out
