Which Antivirus do you use? GOOD one should have told you that too. McAfee always does that for me.

McAfee & Norton are both dead they will only do the top hot viruse and not cover new one only when they become hot they jump on them, updates are really slow when putting them out to get to download by manul or auto-update.

avast! has updated in a week 6x and Trend Micr update 3-6 times a week too are really better in my book. i want updates more then one time a week and half pass update only on hot viruses is not for me all of them. i want any updates i can get on all of them....

my hotmail they even drop McAfee they using now: Trend Micro.

I got three trojans yesterday through java. I have java installed for 10 freakin' minutes and I got a virus. It's off my comp now

Thankfully, AVG caught all of them and removed them all. Good ol' AVG.

A lot of times antivirus catch spyware and call them trojan downloaders. The virus scanner can't get rid of em so you need a spyware remover.

I quit using McAfee about 7 years ago. I'm religious in keeping my security updated, yet it missed a very nasty virus which wiped me out and left me with nothing. AVG has yet to fail me.

And Atholon, one of the best ways to remove stuff is to do it yourself. I keep an eye on all created or modified files, and if anything isn't as it should be, I check it and kill it. Just yesterday, a dll got added to my system32 folder. Bastard put in a new warning file and changed my homepage to go to that warning. I noticed it, fixed it, no more problems

Best way with spyware is to avoid it. Avoid sites that put it on your computer.
