hey,

this may sound patronising, but its a genuine ques, does it only happen when u go onto web sites.

If not, are u connected to the net when it comes up, and have u d/loaded nethin recently, cos there's a chance that the ad's were attached to it.

Is it ad's in IE???

Does it happen to look kinda like an error box? or is it a web page?

If it's a webpage go get adaware (it's free) and scan your system. Kazaa has lots of spyware but if you remove it kazaa wont work unless you get the right patch for it.

ur pic didnt show yesterday :/ the answer is in this thread by Panther : http://www.dfhq.net/forum/showthread...&threadid=5293

which says:

The last thing for this session is that stupid Messenger spam! You ever had a message popup outa no where that said "free porn! Go to this website: www.somthing.com" or some other spam? (Look at attachment for example) I got 4 in a row today, they will log your IP if the send is successful. This can only happen to win2000, xp and NT users but it gets very annoying when I am trying to get somthing done, it closes all my programs. I found a way to disable this without downloading some stupid program that isn't needed. To disable This Messenger service do the following:
Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Messenger. Click stop, then from the scroll down box select Disabled. Then reboot your computer. If you recieve errors or suddeny programs aren't working enable it again. But I haven't have any spam, or errors with it off.

**disable the 'Administrative Alerts' service as well

also getting the XP updates will stop this problem

Yes they are a real pain in the ass. I know one is coming cause my computer will freeze for a 1/2 second before it shows. If I am playing a game it closes the game and returns me back to my desktop just to look at some stupud spam message.

Tada No More Spammy Ads

http://www.jmu.edu/computing/security/info/winmsg.shtml

Out of the box, Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, and XP systems allow anyone on the network to pop up messages like this on your screen. You do not need to be running any web, email, or instant messaging software. It has nothing to do with MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, or any other application. There is no need for the sender to know anything about your computer and your computer doesn't care who does it. In recent incidents, people have used this capability to spread SPAM messages like the ones above.

From Link Above...
