mission var

i don`t quite understand what the mission var1 etc means

i know that i can use them in the wac file but what do they mean???

some wac files have var1 or var2 etc. in them but when and how do i use them?? what do they do in an event???

there is no explanation in the tutorial either only that you can use them but i don`t understand what for and when and what they do.

please tell me someone
