Delay in Multiplayer Lan

I play DFLW with my friends in a Multiplayer Lan at home.
But the maps delays to load in client machines in all types of games (DM, TDM, Cooperative, etc). Sometime we can't wait for the game starts and change to another map....eek!
Why this happens?

All the computers are Atlhon XP 3000+ at minimum with 256MB DDR, Video card with 32MB.

I hope someone give me a tip to solve this problem!
