Sad Font size screwed up???

Was just working on a sig, no problems with it at all. Then I decided on a whole new idea and when I select my font tool and typed on the canvas, the text is so small I can't read it unless I edit the size up to 1880 pixels. I usually use the default sizes from 6pt to 72pt. But for some reason if I select 72pt, the text is way to small? What did I screw up and how do I fix it?

Please advise

It was a standard 400 x 125 pixel sig canvas I started with.

Don't know what I did, but I fixed it. Seems like if I opened an old sig and worked backwards to a clean canvas and then started over it works now.

Yeah I had the same thing happen to me once...don't think I ever figured out what caused it.

make sure the image is at 72 pix/inch

sometimes you just grab an image off the net and it is a bit messed up and will be 1 instead of 72. now if you just start typing on a new layer on this image the font sizes go out of wack. (probably brushes to?).

i always start with a blank canvas @ 72, then add what i need to.

Im sure thats it, you probably had your resolution either really small or really big but the internet default is 72 so make sure your document size is set at a resolution of 72
