well i say earth quake, it was a 5.2, so little one but very rare in the UK, strongest one in 25 years.

Did any of your photos fall off the wall?

We had one about 100miles away about a week ago and I didn`t even feel it.

I lived in St George, Ut once and we had a 4.7 which sounded like a dozen semis going down the street. Must be about the same.

Aside from this being a rarity for the UK, I don't see how a "bed-shaker" earthquake could make it onto the news. We had one in Darwin a few years ago which was probably the same scale. I remember it, I was at cadets participating in a rather boring lesson on fieldcraft when I feel really numb for some reason, then the huge shed doors start rattling wildly, then the chairs and desks start sliding around to-and-fro. Our base was next to the sea, so naturally some anticipated a tidle wave....the quake wasn't big enough to create one though hehe.

i think the point is that it is so rare, it woke up 1/2 the country in the middle of the night, some houses had damage and a chimney fell on some guy, this stuff simply does not happen in England

if this can make it into the news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/w...ds/7267871.stm
then a nationwide earth tremor is a big thing hehehe
