Watching vids of it online I still don't really like the dialogue too much, hopefully the real English version (and not a DE-ENG patch) will be a bit better. I just don't like how the words that are pieced together are said way too fast.

played for a few mins yesterday, going through the training because i haven't played ARMA before. game play doesnt feel very smooth because i have to keep doing random things like drag ppl along the floor and give them first aid, just need to get used to the controls and it will be easier to play.

125MB patch out already but ppl seem to suggest it makes things better generally.

i tell yiou one thing, if you browse around and see some screenshots that look realistic, then i'm 99% sure they have found a nice spot, cranked up the settings, took the screenshot, and then lowered the settings becasue it's unplayable when it looks that good. it seems that quad core systems are using all cores which is really good.

i banged the draw distance of full (10KM iirc), and then wacked everythign up and i had a slideshow going on, and my system isn't exactly slow. i'll fiddle about abit and see how it turns out. the bloom and blur effects are just not required at all, it might look pretty in a video but tbh those are hammering framerate for nothing, gfx gimics that most ppl are just turning off. by default there is no AA option! they had to add that in the patch *rolls eyes*

other than that i've not done alot, i failed the training because i shot a cow killed myself with the anti tank because i press fire instead of resupply. actually that was a weird thing, then i go to the ammo crate and hit enter (to resupply), the guy lies down over/inside the box :/ so some weird things, maybe my fault who knows. oh and i drove the hummer into a training village and got shot to **** by friendlies :/ hmpf.

like i said i've only played for about 15 mins but i'll have a shoot around and play some MP and get some screenies

when i play the first arma, i have the settings maxed out except for the draw distance, I leave it at about 2k. The draw distance is the real killer here.

Let us know what the campaign is like too. From what I've been reading it's been said this is a really awesome game but it suffers from a buggy release or something... Hopefully it's stable enough.

got it to about 11 fps at one point when i crank the view on 10km and resolution @ 3840x2400

looks like xfire wont take screenshots of games that it doesnt recognise so i took hundreds of screenshots last night only to find out then when i finished, there were no actual screenshots

real shame to because i was playing a coop mission at night, and i mean it was totally pitch black... apart from when someone opens up with the SAW. OMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGG awesome!

absolutely stunning game, very immersive and atmospheric. rock hard game but fun. would really recommend playing on voicecomms with ppl you know.

i'd like to grab some footage through fraps, i'll see what i can do. it would be a lot easier if ARMA2 didn't use pretty much every single key on the keyboard haha

would liek to post some more but i'm off to play some more

crazy tough game haha

forgot the screenshots (will got some tomorrow), grabbed 40GB of vids through fraps tho capped @ 1920x1200, reduced to 1280x720 and uploded a couple of the night vids to youtube. it just takes me forever to upload these vids and my ISP capps me if i upload too much

few things you might notice..

#1 how noob i am
#2 how hard it is
#3 how awesome it is

warning - some teamspeak chat so there is a bit of swearing in there sorry.

ARMA2 noobs at night 1 (720 HD) TGHQ we got a bit pinned down and the bad guys are comming over the ridge infront and both sides, there is six of us and we all just died at pretty much the same time. using the ACOG scope in this one, really gives you some nice range, you cannot see anything at all without the NVGs, at the end you just see tracers and then hear me die

ARMA2 noobs at night 2 (720 HD) TGHQ similar situation but i have the SAW woop, very nice weapon in the game, fires tracer rounds, the ricochets look sweet at about 55 seconds you can see the guy i'm trying to shoot but he keeps shooting me so the recoil made it very hard to aim, much better combat than other games listen at about 1:48 you can hear the snap of bullets going past, lucky that those guys are so far away becasue you don;t normally get warning shots

have some day vids ready to upload but i''m off to bed. i know there isn;t that much action, but if there is a lot of action then it's over pretty quickly because i'm usually dead

Addict.

Hehe cheers for the vids. Post screenies too when ya get time.

Anyways I learnt that if I do a soft restart the machine will reboot, but if I do a hard restart I have to wait several minutes before it'll actually behave.
