record video to hd

hi i need a bet of brain power here

i can record 720x480

normal screen is like
640x480
800x600
1024x768

but what gose with 720x480

if i go sample 640x480 it flicker when recording but i go 720x480 its all clear

basic i asking what is the line up above (below ???x???) 720x480> next in line?

???x???
720x480
????x????

i can edite it so it larger as will.

i really got to get a Tv-card PCI that can handle 1024x768 and above to do any good recording.

I get the effect you're trying to make mate.

My guess is that 720 x 480 is between 640 x 480 and 800 x 600?

Googling doesn't really help me at all. Tried Googling maybe?

Hope that helps.

Chris

no that was not what i mean

ok normal something in this line up:
640x480 > 800x600 > 1024x768

the thing i am asking what go with:

???x??? > 720x480 > ????x???? thats around off as will

720x480 is a odd size to start with.

i know the the line up what you are talking about chris

i think its more like:
2x3: 180x120 > 360x240 > 720x480
3x4: 160x120 > 240x180 > 320x240 > 284x288 > 480x360 > 640x480
9x11: 176x144 > 352x288

not 100% if this is right thinking

720x480 is NTSC DVD that is just what it is.

i think the flickering might be from interlacing (how an image is displayed on a tv), and this is not needed if you are using a monitor (u dont specify).

if you're watching on a tv have interlacing on, if your watching on a monitor turn interlacing off (in the card settings)

that work great in Turtle Beach AD FullCap

its listed as interleave (same meaning as interlacing) i disable it now the flicking is gone

with Cyberlink PowerDirector 6, i can now record as high 1024x768 now without the flicking in it.

Thanks Steve that was a big help

next time i go to the nude beach! i get some video clips of the beach and send it your way steve j/k

Yeah I know, I was trying to find the resolutions in and between, but decided to just assume that 720 was between 640 x 480 and 800 x 600 since I couldn't find anything.

Glad ya got it fixed.

Chris

dang thing started to flicker again, i may have to go buy a Tv-Card some some type thats feed 800x600 or 1024x768 or better.

maybe a HD Tv-card PCI or USB type around $100.00 or under

i uploaded a small clip to show what happens when Cyberlink PowerDirector 6 capture in use.
