Rules:

I will say a lateral question.
1.If no one gets it in one day then i will give a hint,
2.If you give up then PM me.
3.I will not time this until most people give and stuff.
*Lateral thinking puzzles are often strange situations which require an explanation. They are solved through a dialogue between the quizmaster who sets the puzzle and the solver or solvers who try to figure out the answer. The puzzles as stated generally do not contain sufficient information for the solver to uncover the solution. So a key part of the process is the asking of questions. The questions can receive one of only three possible answers - yes, no or irrelevant.*

Lateral Question #1-

A man is lying dead in a field. Next to him there is an unopened package. There is no other creature in the field. How did he die?

He stole a package from someone who trusted him. The originator of the package was in a position of power and could have the thief killed. So, the unknown package was left by the accused unknown assailant(s) to make things known to whomever sent the thief that they were now officially reported by legal athorities. Both are already under investigation but no charges can be brought against them, yet. Luckily by good inside intelligence, the originator knew there was nothing of any importance in that package and the information that there was, was incriminating evidnce towards the victim and his friends. Obvoiusly enemies.

The unopened package was a parachute, the man had jumped but the chute hadnt opened and died on impact with the ground.

No i didnt cheat, the trick with lateral questions is that everything has a purpose, the answer is the most sensible one you can come up with that accounts for all the objects. In this case i knew that the package was there for a reason and eventually figured it out...
