New digicam!

I'm required to take alot of photos for my job and my old camera just wasen't doing it anymore.. despite being a 6.1MP camera the low lighting sucked, if I turned the flash off (even when turing up shutter speed), everything came out blury unless the camera and object were PERFECTLY still and was also impossible to take night shots. I took some really good pics one night and they all turned out like crap.. so I bought a new Fuji FinePix F30 from newegg.. All the reviews on every site said it was awesome so I went to best buy to check it out, very small, compact and good quality and very quick. The dude at best buy kept on pressuring me to buy it, I had looked at newegg.com before hand so I told him to drop the price by $50, add a 512MB xD card, a free case and the $50 rebate form and i'll buy it. Looked like he wanted to take it away from me or something. Nobody can beat newegg! hehe

I'll post some photos when I get it Can't wait!

I don't really have a 'line of work'... My job functions include:

Website programming, both in contract and freelance..
IT Administration (includes active directory, OS, database, hardware, backups, software… ... ... etc)
It’s my job to find and evaluate hardware and software solutions that fit the business needs and also finding new ways to save money... Like lower powered PC’s... How to save money on paper, how much there ISP costs them vs. someone else.. Like Qwest charges them for email ATM, but now we switched to googles “Apps for your business” which offers free “apps for the business” , so they like me more.
Business insights (I basically give opinions, mostly on how the internet side of the business should be run...)
Taking photos of product
Managing a large database of product
Legal stuff (I make sure the business is running legal on the "information" side)

That's basically what I do for the company I am at now... I guess I am the 'universal' guy... I get questions about any and everything...

Like that because of it's size. But the low light photos are not very good and review sites say they got some blury photos, even it bright daylight. Thats on of the biggest flaws with my current camera, blury photos, over exposed or dark photos.. after seeing compairson photos from the F30 and S5, the F30 deffinatly came out ahead.

I too wanted a SLR.. I looked at that one myself. It was about $150 over my price range, and I would have had to buy all the accessories . You gotta post some pics with that tho! The pics on steves-digicams.com look chrisp. Very nice!

Got thrown out before I had to show. BTW, i've been pulled over two more times for tint and no front license plate, never got a ticket for either. They simply can't enforce thoes laws if the vehicle is registered in a diffrent state. I guess most people don't know this and just do what the officer says.. They eye my car alot now though, but never follow.. I assume they know that I know they can't do anything about it.

The whole tint thing is really dumb and unfair to me anyways. Even when my car is registered here I'll have a perscription for tint -- and i'll get it darker next time. I don't care what anyone says/thinks, tint is required if i'm driving, I don't know how people drive without it.

nope

i got the s3 for £200 with a 2gb sd card. even the low-end dSLR's are £400 at least :/
the s3 is just a point-and-shoot really, just with slr looks. i guess it has some added functionality. but you have to deal with carrying it around in a case rather than in your pocket
