check your blink groups.
end pieces are parents, middle pieces are the same group but not parents

I'm doing ok with tunnels and entrances but trying to fit out a pyramid with tunnels and rooms. The same rules for tunnels don't seem to apply, first section is ok but still have black hole syndrome. Or tunnel is invisible until you step through door. Which is parent; pyramid or first section?

They are right, Tunnel Entrances have to have the Parent Group checked, and so do the rooms attached to the tunnel pieces. But do not check the Parent Group for tunnel pieces. All adjacent pieces have to have the exact same Blink Group number. A 2 linked to a 1 will have that Black Hole effect. I make all my tunnel systems with just a 1 Blink Group number as I do not make massive tunnels. If you have flickering where the two pieces of tunnels overlap, go back and move one up or down just 1 centimeter. That is so little difference you will not see it with the eye, except the blinking stops. The same is true with any objects overlapped and blinking.
Another hint, zoom in big time to get the objects alligned as much as possible, your maps will be a lot better quality. Ctrl+Right Mouse, will center you map where your cursor is, then zoom in. Check and recheck everything, especially the spawn points. Kill yourself at least as many times as you have spawn points. Nothing is more frustrating than to spawn in a wall or under a building. I take at least 2 weeks to make a map, at an hour a day. Patience is the key to making great maps.

I've never tagged rooms as Parents and they work ok. Also, reduce grid size down to 1 metre and tick snap to grid so placement is a doddle!
