bf2 a bit laggy
Yo guys. just got me another PC a while ago and me and my bro have been playing multi player via lan.
it's super fun! but the first thing we noticed is that the hosting player looks kinda choppy to the joining player.example: when the host is driving a dune buggy, on the joining players end, the movements of the dune buggy are really rough and jittery and not smooth as if there's alot of lag. is there anything we can do to clear this up? it's not a major problem but it's very annoying to the joining player. |

i had about the same problem in company of heroes, except it kept saying that my friends settings were to high, so he had to set them to look like a somewhat detailed moving-painting of some sort, it was quite funny actually, lol (yes, it was LAN)
but i really have no idea what is up, was itnot laggy before you got your new computer?

nope. it's not video lag and the connection on the joining player's end isn't laggy at all. it's just that on the joining players end, the host looks bad when his player is moving or doing something. it's really annoying.
it usually only happens when you're driving a vehicle. |

when's the last time you've restarted your router/modem? that might help in some way, im not that good at solving connection problems or really any kind of computer problems, so im just throwing out suggestions or you could call a tech support person?

I may be wrong with this (someone correct me if I am), but I take it that shows how well your network interface device can handle heavy traffic. Are you hosting and the RJ-45 port (cat5) you're using is on the motherboard? It might help to have an actual network interface PCI card.

hmm, never thought of that. but yeah I'm just using the motherboard port. and I'm using cat5 cable.
I just noticed that it's pretty bad in the sandbox mod. but it's really not too bad in regular BF2. something to do with mods maybe? |
