i had a bad experience doing it once .. i flashed it .. then my computer made all kinds of weird noises (out of the speakers) and was fine .. but I knew something was wrong ..

made a floppy disk (jesus ... ) with the bois on it before i rebooted .. and it was a good thing i did.

How did you flash it?

I used EZ Flash (this is an ASUS motherboard though - I dunno if other brands of mobo have a similiar feature).

I've never flashed from Windows so I can't say much, but from what I've read on the net people seem to have many issues updating from Windows, so luckily I stayed away from that.

updated my last mobo over 40 times through windows many ppl say dont do it but hey works for me. did it that way becasue it's easier, but i had to use the floppy when i wanded to downgrade the bios. new board has 2 bios chips so can always use the backup if there is a problem.

I've never had issues with flashing the bios from windows.

i did it from windows .. i think it had something with me using the wrong version :o
