Looking for a new cpu fan/cooler

Okey, so i had a new motherboard, and for some reason the fan on my cpu has gotten 10x louder and faster lol.

The guy at the shop who fitted it for me, said that i should get a new cpu fan, so ive decided to get a new heatsink aswell because the one i have at the moment sucks and my cpu is quite warm.

So ive been looking at a few, and they seem pretty big, and im wondering if it they will fit in my case. Heres the ones ive been looking at:

Arctic Cooling Freezer XTREME CPU Cooler

Asus Silent Knight AL CPU Cooler

May look a bit fancy and probably too good for what i need it, but i do plan on upgrading my cpu to quad core within the next year and possibly overclocking it, so ide need a good one.

Now heres some pics of the inside of my pc:

Im worried that the things around my cpu, will mean that i dont have enough room to fit somthing of that size.

Can anyone give me some advice?

what CPU Slot type?

my is a P4 3.6 it use a "775 slot" for it and the same type of CPU Fan for that slot type as will. keyword is the slot the CPU fitts into would need a matching CPU Fan to match it

looks ok for space. both might go over the ram slots but they have plenty clearance to go over the top.

i have a tuniq tower which looks a lot like the AC one you linked to, very effective and very quiet. the downside it that it needs a backplate to secure it inplace, so it's not just clip on like some others, and hence just needs a few minutes to fit it. sounds like the asus is easier to fit, but tbh for the amount of times you would have to refit it (none?) then it's hardly worh worrying about.

i'd go with the AC one as it's a 120mm fan rather than the 92mm one in the asus. it's either gonna be cooler or quieter or both

The only thing with the AC one is it doesnt look like theres much clearance from the bottom, so that could be a problem with the capacitors and whatever else is around the cpu.

And if you mean the socket type William, its AM2.
