Cant get Teamspeak to work

I seem to have a connection problem. and no its not the firewall. It just not want to connect to my server. contact me please if you can help me get it working. I have vista beta....Silverpizza on NL USA squad

have you tried any other servers?

To the people who have brains.....

As for my team speak. I have a ventrilo server, and assume i can use team speak or ventrilo program to access the server I purchased. My problem is after i enter in the IP and Port along with user name, etc... I press the connect button and it says error on team speak program..on the ventrilo is has a question mark and MSG and it says connecting and it binks. But never connects to the server....

I have windows Vista . and server set on global network. ATT DSL connection.

if there is no TS server running then you cannot connect to it. no you canont connect to a Vent server using teamspeak :/

ive never used Vent so i cant comment on what that isnt working, i suggest asking your server hosting comapny.

How do you think you will get decent support without a proper error?
Go into your server.log and copy those lines... Also client.log

all these people are hard core users of teamspeak, best be nice to them if you like to get any help from them!

no one can tell what is going on in your system! only you can see what is going on
when they ask for details they know what they are looking for clues!

so don't flip out on them they are really trying to help you the best way they can!

What do you mean you cant use team speak on a ventrilo server? Do you even know anything about computers. That is like saying I cant get on the net using Linux software or using an apple computer. It is just a server that means a network connected to my computer. ATT and AOL are all servers...Jesus man,,,,,,,,
Anywho,,I posted the pics on my squad site of the issues. dont respond please unless you know something....and pehaps have had the same issue. I dont have time for silly season....

teamspeak and ventrilo are their own communication live chat software service!

look you can connect to teamspeak to teamspeak only! same for ventrilo! they never have work together at all. they are most part a paid service of their own making!

they have their own sites and tech-support teams, they are not related to each other at all or work together.

they have their own codec, coding and drivers and port setting to run the software engines to connect with each other same service!

way you thinking you can play on XBOX and connect to a Sony Playstation 3 servers. you can't at all their have their own setting and servers they don't work together at all

I'm sorry if I overstep my place on this forum, but..

Get a grip for goodness sake. Go and ask ANYBODY who knows anything about TS or Ventrillo, and they will tell you that it is IMPOSSIBLE to connect to each others servers.

Now.. if you would like help here, I suggest you wise up, and start listening to people here, especially Katana. But if you still believe your right, then clearly your knowledge is far superior to ours.. so why are you even asking for help?

I will again re-itterate you can not use teamspeak client on a ventrilo server.

The ventrilo server uses a different way to talk to its clients that teamspeak doesn't understand.

It would be like you trying to talk to some one who speaks a language that you don't speak.


Yes, you can use linux, apple, windows to get on the net - that is because they understand how to communitcate on the net - in computer speak it is called a protocal -

But come on even you should know that there are servers that not every thing can connect too... or have you tried connecting to a COD4 server through black hawk down?

For a server to accept clients the clients have to understand how the server sends and recieve data. And as far as I know, neither ventrilo or teamspeak have made available the details of their respective protocals to the general public (though TS3 may change that with their SDK).


Ventrilo and teamspeak, while being servers, were designed so that only ventrilo can talk to ventrilo and teamspeak to only teamspeak.


I have been running a ventrilo server or teamspeak server for going onto 7 years - I have in my learning how to program computer software read up on internet communications and protocals, so I do know what I am saying.

you can't even get a clue how they work every one told the truth to you!

all you can do is talk low to other who knows more about them two soft wares


here a tip go seek help from the maker of teamspeak or ventrilo tech-support at their own site!
