.lwf files
Does anyone know a small free program to open up .lwf files? I've Googled this crap so many times and can't really find anything!
I know IrfanView can but for some reason the .lwf I'm opening up can't be opened by IrfanView. I'm doing a mod for BHD and I need to find a good .lwf viewer. Any help? Thanks. Chris

For some reason when I attach something over 50KB at this forum it says it's corrupt. Get FwO Raven's PFF Extractor Utility and use the filter to filter .lwf and find the one that says ''dfvgame''.
BTW, thanks mate. I think I saw this on the IrfanView site but I never thought it could do .lwf files! Thanks mate! Chris

Hmm... I can only view the .lwf in hex. And XnView can't convert to audio files.
The good thing is, a guy confirmed for me that the .lwf files are indeed sound files for BHD, so I'm gonna now see if I can convert an .mp3 to .lwf. ... K, it can play audio files, etc. but not actually convert them to an audio format... I'll reply later on... Chris

I just got ''LuraWave SmartCompress 3.0'' and that won't recognize the damn .lwf in the .pff. And also, I probably have to convert my .wav to .mp3 to .lwf too...
LuraWave SmartCompress 3.0 only does images. I'm very sure LuraWave also does sound files. Inside one of those bloody .lwf files is the music that plays when you start up BHD. It's not .wav as well. I Googled up every file extension in those .pffs BTW... BTW, just incase you asked, in BHD's .pffs there's a hexxed character after every files' extension just so they can't get recognized. I took that hexxed letter off just incase you were wondering... GL to me... BTW Steve, it's an advanced ''unpopular'' file type. Basically it offers extreme good quality for images but a really small file size. And Nova have their sound files in there; or should I say, music files? Chris

UNOFFICIAL JO MODTOOLS
Tools from Devilsclaw: BFC1Extractor - decompresses various files (.wav, .dds etc.) BIN2TXT - converts a .bin file to a .txt file TXT2BIN - converts a .txt file to a .bin file Tools from DareHacker: lwfbuilder - allows you to make .lwf files that are used by the game to play sounds. It is also able to convert the .lwf to a .txt file. BFCTool - commandline tool to decompress and compress various files (.wav, .dds etc.) Tools from DV: BHD2JO_3DI - converts a BHD 3di file to a 3di file that can be used in JO. DPTH2CDEP - compresses the raw depthmap of a .cpt terrain file so that it can be used in JO. DeSCR - encrypts and decrypts files with a 'SCR' header used by Novalogic games. IcI, I converted two of the .lwf files to .txt and I think they're only for storing settings for all the sounds in the game. I've seen no proof of music or anything... And when I rename e.g: ''SPBHD_14.lwf'' to e.g: ''DfVmenu.lwf'', I would expect it to play Mission 14's music when on the menu but nothing... You are right lol. And the Readme says you can give sounds to vehicles, etc. Might be great for modding... :S Chris
