my rant about the MDB

ok everytiime i submit a map here it seems im always over my CHARACTER limit of 300 this is just to few to give a good description and have good grammer with no way of knowing(without counting or using an outside program) how many characters i have. the following usually happens

1. i submit map and char # is over limit so i get an char limit error

2. i get frustrated get char limit down to 300 or less resubmit but im my frustration and the fact the form partially resets i dont have a zip and SS or gametype selected.

3. form comes back with an error again i resumbit with every field filled in and char limit to 300

4. form is finally excepted

this is very frustrating i have 56K and every time i submit it may take 3-5 min for the form to come back with an error so it may take up to 15 min to submit a map

it seems as if instead of checking the fields for errors first the form trys to UL and when it fails it checks for errors

I have added a little "[Check Your Description Length]" under the map description field, use that to check how many chars you have.

I have also bumped up the description to about 600 chars. That should be enough to get a better description in. 300 chars add's up quicker then I thought.

It is not possible for the map screen shot and map zip forms to be saved if there was a submission error, but the game types do stay selected. Everything stays selected in my testing except the mapss and mapzip forms.

ps, any more suggestions please feel free to tell us about them.

thanks for taking the time and listening to my rant and fixing the problem.

600 is probably about right any thing more than that may just encourage useless bable lol

sorry didnt realise there was a char length check button i may have forgotten to check gametype or srolled past it after i highlighted the field.

so slap a N on there it would be greatly appriciated

done. It dosent seem to change the name on the existing maps, panther might be able to help there....
