Thank you guys! I am the admin for a dedicated server for the clan. The server hosting company will not install software for us but we can ftp and install what ever we want on the server. I have the game here as many of our members do but do not know which files to upload to set up a server? Also there may not even be a graphics card on the server or if so not a high quality one as the server is not designed for gaming. I have not been able to find a dedicated server file as most games have for JO and any help in getting JO working for us would truely be appreciated.

The server is a dedicated server on an OC97 connection with unlimited bandwidth running windows 2003 server the catch is I only have remote access to it through a remote desktop connection.

I have tried copying the entire instalation to it but it tells me to rerun the install so that obviously wonk work I have heard of using daemon tools and iso images of the disks and may try that next but am concerned about video requirements during the install.

The plan so far (Please if anyone sees a potential problem let me know:
1) Install VNC(RDC), and Daemon tools (CDROM Emu) on server 2) Create ISO's of my JO CD's 3) upload ISO's to server 4) Througn VNC activate hardwre acceleration all directx features and update drivers (the machine has an nvida card but an older one) 5) Start Daemon tools and emulate the JO ISO installing JO 6) using Daemon tools load the expansion disk and install 7) close VNC and Daemon tools 8) From windows Remote desktop connectin Run server using my game CD key Sounds easy enough but I have a question: We are allowed 4 accounts from one CD key can I use one to host and another to play in this configuration or does this mean I wont be able to do both at the same time? |
