The fact that the socalist party (yes Sweden is a democracy if you didnt know that) has been elected over and over again, it cant be that bad considering that

Sweden was ranked the second best country after Norway to live in, this was 2002.

Sweden has one of the higest life expectencey of both sexes.

Sweden was one of the riches and most industrilised countries in the world in the 60ies and on to around the 1990ies

Sweden is one of the leading IT nations in the world.

Its possible to have democoratic socialism, just like its possible to have democratic communism, socialism isnt a system of government as such in that respect. Youll find socialism in almost every country if you look hard enough. Socialism dosent call for total government control over everything either, its a line of thinking that the government should be able to provide some things, it dosent mean that private enterprises cant try to create competition...

Anyway, im not saying socialism is a good or bad thing, im sure somewhere between capitalism and socialism there is a good balance...

Acutally mike that definition of Socialism is a verbatim copy from a dictionary, it is I admit rather simplistic but that is a basic aim of the Fabian society here in Brtain.
