I'm of the opinion that if someone can create this world, that someone could stop any nuke or weapon we might use to destroy the entire earth. Maybe someone will stop us if we detonate one big enough to destroy everything. I haven't seen it tried yet, so we'll just have to wait until then

Honestly I don't think anyone is going to change their belief because of what I say here.

Yes... well... I reckon that IF there was some high all mighty being that created us and hasnt been bothered getting off his ass and stopping us from killing things...maybe it has better things to do than stop mindless humans from blowing each other to bits. Maybe we're being watched by a myriad of alien species - like some gigantic reality show?!

Now that would be wierd but thats what I dont believe. It is a slight possibiliy.

I have to say that I think it's the "mutualy assured destruction" doctrine that has prevented us from blowing our world up since the end of the second world war and not because of some divine intervention.

Having said that it may be that somehow a strong belief of some kind may have helped to stay the hand of our political leadership from taking that final, insane decision.
