I have to agree with you there. I have alot of family members that are retired or active duty police. I also work with alot of retired officers, and for the most part they all say the same thing. The high level of stress causes most of the miss judgements. Their emotions start to take control and they start going on pure adrinalin. They have also told me that officers in both LA and San Diego are starting to go through new training on how to cope with the stress and how to keep their cool under high stress levels so things like this dont happen. Unfotunatly most police and sherrif departments either do not have or are unable to provide that type of training.
