NILE - Cache Folder - NPZ and NPJ files invisible.
This is suddenly happening in Windows 8.1 -
I can only see the Cache folder and the NPZ/NPJ projects in the editor open/save dialog. When I look with explorer they are hidden from view. All the methods I've tried so far will not reveal them in explorer. Strangely (and so far inexplicably) - I can see the file backups on my external drives but they disappear when I drop them into the JOCAG folder. So - NILE will find them OK and load them OK and the game will play them OK. IMO: After a seemingly consistent assault by MS on the home user and developer, this new type of hoodoo voodoo in the program folders is somewhat worrying... |

Could it be the old VirtualStore shunt?

I can't emphasize this enough: Run ALL NovaLogic executables as admin. Installers, patchers, games, and especially, the mission editors.

Noticed that Windows 10 Registry has a Wow6432Node shunt in a Wow6432Node.
IE ...\Wow6432Node\Wow6432Node\... (I guess I'd better not put the actual path here) It might be how they're managing the experimental builds so I didn't touch it. |
