Other hobbies
What are your other hobbies?
Mine is my car... I've been slowing modding my car over the last couple years, and have surpassed my 375whp goal with 401whp and 420wtq. I do all of the work on my car in my garage from suspension to transmission removal. I got my first taste of drag racing last year and again this fall. The rush is amazing being able to go from a stop to 120mph in a quarter mile (0.4km @194kph for you other countries) is pretty sweet. I've been running at the track on street tires which makes it impossible to get traction... This week my first pair of racing slicks finally came in. I hope to break into the 11s quarter mile next weekend if the weather holds up. I will also be on the dyno again, hoping for 425whp this time but I doubt I will have enough fuel for that as the cold weather makes my car run very lean (fuel can't keep up). Here are some videos / pictures of my car: Dyno of my car in 2011, it made 333whp, 341wtq (boost for boobies is a charity event, for boobies ) Dyno of my car in 2012, it made 401whp, 420wtq My first 12s pass at the drag strip: 12.8s@119mph. Even though he says silver import won, I was actually faster by 2 100's of a second, the announcer corrected but the wife stopped filimg. FYI, they are both American Made (86% USA materials) Dodge Neon SRT-4s, not imports as the announcer states for some reason. My first pair of slicks which I hope will give me the traction to put me in the 11s bracket: Current engine bay pic: (I'm currently proving lots of people wrong by being able to achieve 401whp with a very stock looking engine bay). I only have 3 real mods done to the car: Mopar Stage 3 turbo, Mopar exhaust, E85 fuel+1025cc injectors. Other pics:

Scott, I'll openly admit that I'm not much of a vehicle guy. I get very annoyed at all my friends that ramble on for hours about them with a bunch of model brands and #'s that make no sense to me.
My other nerd hobbies besides gaming include programming, film editing, and a bit of movies/television. In the real world, I play a bit of backyard sports with family/friends and really enjoy hiking/caving. I'm also a devout Arkansas Razorback fan, although we suck pretty bad lately.

Unfortunately, school, work, and family have left me little time and money for hobbies. I have been really looking forward to getting into mountain biking. I've priced out several bikes I am interested in. I'm looking at Trek, Specialized, and Fezzari.
I am also interested in kayaking. Hopefully I'll end up someone near a lake

My past time (hobbie) is trying to get back into my house. We've been out of our house for 2 years.
We bought our house in 1984 not knowing that that foundation was built on rotting wood and stumps (the house was built in 1976). Our foundation of our house fell into the rotten wood leaving concrete cracks in our walls and foundation. When we finally found the problem it was too late to go back (legally & finacially) aganst the builder or the seller. This has been my hobbie. Getting back into my house. After 2 + years & $20,000 dollars , I'm finally ready to move back into my house. This has sucked but I hope my experience could help other people. So, could someone wish me a happy homecoming, LOL ?

Yes, by the camera angle it looked like the other car came in first, I can see why the commentator made the error, good stuff, safest place to do it, not on the roads. Down here we don't provide many outlets like that so the younger ones do it on the public roads. (organized but fatalities have occurred)

@ Scott, I hope some day I'll be able to get a car with some muscle. I hope Subaru keeps their BRZ around until I can at least afford one. I've been very interested in them since I saw one at the store.
I hate wondering if my car will have the guts to make it when pulling out in front of someone at an intersection. Many times it drops the ball and just pisses off the person behind me because I over estimate its capabilities. Seems like I just have to wait forever for a big enough gap.
