Ours means a rememberance of finding of a new home in a new land and thankfulness to GOD for a bountiful Harvest (and blessings) and new (and old) friendships. Please forgive my lack of knowledge.

We don't have the equivalent of a thankgiving, however census data and other studies put atheist (using that to encompassing humanism et al.) numbers at anywhere between 25 and 30%, on the flipside with fewer percentage attending religious services regularky, and the numbers become more polarizing looking at people under 40 so it wouldn't have as much a religious significance as it would in the US...

We celebrate All saints day but not halloween, it is starting to get a bit attention from kids, because of the extra candy obviously but not much more then that.
