Joint ops LAN probs.
well, me and my bro started playing the COOP maps via LAN in JO:E.
well we've come across two problems. first off, the joining player is automatically damaged as soon as he spawns. so as soon as you spawn your already in the red health status. but on the host side, it still shows the joining player is in green health status. it does this EVERY time you spawn. problem number 2, often times on the joining players side, the reload animation will not play when the clip runs dry, instead it will quickly refill the ammo in the gun with no reload pause at all. what's even more strange, when it does this, you can't kill any bots or other players unless you manually press the reload key. you can still shoot them but the bullets will just go right thru them. I'm loving the COOP and playing againsts bots with my bro, but this is really ruining the game. any help would be most appreciated. |

Never happened with me Skinny. Sounds odd. Is it something to do with updates? BTW, you might want to download Ranger 6's JOE SP map:
http://www.novahq.net/?show=pop&page...etails&id=8319 His best map by far. |

The Devil is not the game that is around us, but the connection that is within us all...
think about that for awhile......DONE! Sounds like one game "the gam'ee" failed to install an update correctly try installing same ver game to 2 pc's REWRITE the text file so you can do that, then use different serials, hope you have moved on from dialup skinny "M" |

yeah tried that, they're both using the same version and such.
and dailup? 1st off like I said it's lan, using a direct lan line so pretty much no lag at all. and 2nd, I was never on dial-up. I'm using a high speed satellite connection. it's about as fast as DSL but there's like a 3 second data transfer delay from satellite to ground which ruins it for gaming.... anyway, you think it would have anything to do with using different OS's? I'm using XP and my bro is using Vista. I've also modded the game a bit, it's not much and really shouldn't affect the game, I just replaced some of the weapon models with my own creations and changed the weapon positions and replaced a few weapon sounds. I transfered the medded files to my bro's Game directory also so they're set up exactly the same. thanks for the replies guys. |

Sounds like the OSes to me. Can't see the Modded stuff doing anything odd. Mind you, I am a total noob when it comes to IT stuff. Dial-up, eh? Can people still do that? Or is that a MERMITE thing?
