And plus ASUS sounds better than Dell. Pretty much all parts I'm using are from ASUS, and they're good stuff.
Yeah I agree with the rest. Choose the ASUS one, heh.

I'd get the XPS. I have the 13" (M1330) and I would absolutely buy it again. By far the best laptop I’ve ever had out of 3 others (Acer, MSI, Asus).

Found out that supposedly mySQL has some issues on 64bit Vista. I don't think my portable EasyPHP is going to work on it, which sucks.
The dell has XP drivers so I can always just throw it on there if I have probs.

Question is what will you be trying to do with it? That will answer your question ;-)

Well I obviously want the biggest bang for my buck.
I am going to be mainly using it for school, I will be doing programming on it in PHP, C#. Later on I want to do 3DSMAX and Maya. I also wouldn't mind something that can run a few good games on it.

i got my doing:
making a pot of coffee in the morning Auto dial to call my girl up in the morning each day to wake her up to get ready for work, no then like picking up the phone and hear a fax incoming call! control the weather each day, and let me know what it told the weather to be for that day! laptop is a lot better then having a girl doing lap dance for you. cheaper. i think the ASUS was better buy in the long run!

You know, apache, php and mysql are extremly easy to install without EasyPHP... It's really a matter of unzipping files and editing just a few simple configurations.. I'm positive you can get them to work on a 64bit vista system.

Where are you getting it from? I got HP Pavilion dv5-1113us 15.4" Widescreen Entertainment Laptop from Circuitcity (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-Pa...oductDetail.do) I think it's a good buy for what I'm using it for, which is probably more than you'll ever use it for
