Player waypoints!!!
i am really getting tired of figuring out player waypoints. They work, I have managed to assign my player to the wp, but how can you redirect the player to a different one?
For example in Marka Breakdown, when the humvee stops, an objective is added and a new wp appears. Is there a way of doing that? I have checked and you cant redirect 'ssn 10000'. And because you cannot asign the player to a group (box becomes shaded) i tried redirecting 'group 0' since player is not in a group. Still that not work. Any ideas? Thx BB

On the subject of wps
on the subject of wps im having trouble with my boat wps as well. Basically when player steps into area, the enemy boat is redirected to its wp path.
However instead of it following the path, it arrives at one wp then charges through the land instead. I have checked the wp number order, made the wp not loop and red (evil) team. it is definetly assigned to the correct wp path, but i have no idea why it ignores it. Regards, BB

I dont know if you already know this but, you can have multiple waypoints in the same path. if you choose to have a player wait at a particular waypoint before he proceeds you can attach an event to it. the waypoint will stay there until the event is met/

Okay, in Marka Breakdown, on the waypoint, there's an advancement event.
Now, the reason why that waypoint changes is because an event was triggered, right? Let's just say you make an event, where if all baddies at the waypoint are dead, then the objective is complete. Now, if you made an event like that, put it in your advancement event on your waypoint, and the moment all baddies are dead at the objective then that waypoint will go to the next one.

Its a good idea to have Guarding turned off since it only activates the objects special state. Does the boat go in a straight line? or is its next waypoint apart of a different list? Did you specify that the waypoint list does NOT loop?
about the events: make a test map just to try things out. make an area trigger and name it test wp1 place the player's first waypoint in the area trigger and another one outside the trigger. Then class those two waypoints as the player's waypoints. Now create an event IF: ssn 10000 in area trigger (test wp1) ~ Delay 5 seconds THEN: Leave this blank, unless you want to have it corresponding to something else you want to try. Now in your first waypoint, the one placed in the area trigger, choose that last event as an advancement event now put the player start marker outside of the area trigger when you try the map out, the player should step into the area trigger and it should only take 5 seconds before he will be redirected to the next waypoint. keep in mind that the advancement event feature does not work for vehicles and NPCs |

Yes i had my waypoint as 'do NOT loop' and red team, as the boat is evil. The boat manages to get to atleast 1 or 2 wps then just turns left for some strange reason into the land. The wps are in the same list numbered 0 to 5 in order. The actual wp distance is 5 instead of 10 and because the river twists and turns, the boat doesn't travel in a straight line. Thats all i can really say about the wps. I have also double checked that the events redirect the boat to the right wp (9,0). However the boat and its occupants start off as team blue (good) so that it does not randomly open fire. I set up an event saying that if the player was in the specified area, the boat and occupants would change to red (evil) team and be redirected to the wp path. Should i just start the boat as red team??? Regards, BB
