AOL is moving away from Internet service and going to be a search engine ads service, was on the new last 90days

too much fines for them to handle i think is the main reason they dropping their internet service part totally.

think Jan/2008 first of the year there be no more AOL Internet service

think they be more like google

they are the same guy, it part of their service freebie but still it may drop as will, i don't see it being of part of the search engine.

What router is it? Some routers tend to go down with sertain software, are there any firmware updates for it? Had the same problem with All Seeing Eye, there are usually problems with programs that open alot of ports, don't know if AIM is one of those but might be.

I've been running AIM since my computer has been on. It's been up and running now for 7 days and 13 hours. No problems with AIM on my end.

Linksys G Router with Superboost. It's up to date as far as firmware is concerned.

Was a linksys that I had issues with All Seeing Eye, but have never had any problems with AIM. Is it a WRT54G? If so, what version?

I would update my definitions in my anti virus and scan. There may be a virus or trojan that is flooding whenever aim is open causing the computer to loose its network connection. Also are all computers loosing internet or just this one.

Then it's not a memory issue, not sure what it might be, i'll try running AIM on my new router and see if i get the same problem

Not the same issue but it did use plenty of ports to connect and if the time out on the router is set to slow it will add conecctions constantly and this will take the network down atleast thats what i've heared and i think that is what happend with All Seing Eye for me

are you able to ping any other computer or website when it takes the network down?ping operates at a lower level in the OSI model(for those that dont know.. this is basically everything about network and how it works). If you can ping a computer or a website then the network is up and working.. just for some reason its not letting you through the upper layers, You could also run a trace and see where your connection is stopping. If you cant ping a website or another computer then try to ping the router itself. If that dont work then just for kicks ping 127.0.0.1 and see what you get.
