since that speed test is old.. I guess I should do another speed test.. 5.4mb/s ,, even faster @ http://reviews.cnet.com/Bandwidth_me...-7254_7-0.html

Got road runner now here, had major problems with there cable modem so I went out and bought my own Motorola Surfboard.. Almost 8 mb/s baby

it's ok, but 8mb is available cheaper so thinking of switching. iirc soem ppl are getting upgrades from 2 to 10mb!! for free on NTL. however, 20mb connections next year

Yeah, my isp back home went from 3mb/s (I always got 5 tho) to 8mb/s for free, if you pay an extra $15/mo you get unthrottled... I was paying for the extra but didn't really notice a change except the upload..

Now that I'm here i've realized the cable companys give out modems that are 'capped' or not capable of delivering the full ammout of bandwidth they offer to save them a little money. The one I got with my road runner service was only capable of 4mb/s.. They said that it's normal and the tech that came to my house said everyone was getting the same speeds.. BS, i'm paying for 8mb/s so I want 8 .. So I bought a new modem (Motorola surfboard) and my speed jumped way up to 8mb/s.. Noticed this after searching around the internet for awhile that cable compaines do this..

Bulldog but I had to use a TCP Optimiser to get the better speed, It is an 8meg connection but for the last month this was my speed.


Then I downloaded the Optimiser a few hours ago and Bam...
