DVD Burners?

Anyone have any suggestions on these? I'm looking to spend about $100 for a 16x DVD burner.. Don't care about Dual Layer, just DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW.

I am looking at a LG from newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...136-047&depa=0

I've been waiting for awhile and finally rembered that I wanted one, I was just waiting it out cause they and the media were so expensive just a few months ago.. I also won't have to burn 10 cd's to backup my junk .

But i'm wondering on these things, do you have alot of problems with media (Like diffrent cd brands)? Or not being able to play DVD's you make on your DVD drive in your DVD player?

NEVER get an I/O Magic or an NEC DVDRW they suck BAD!!!

That's it...I'd go with Sony or Pioneer.

16x is awesome. I burned a DVD in like 6 mins.

best at the mo are:

NEC ND3520 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter for speed
Pioneer DVR-109 16 x 16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter for reading and better media compatibility

u can get em in the UK for less than £40 so that's about $75

Thanks guys ..

I think i'm going to go with the LG GSA-4163BI.. It's pretty damn cheap and I cannot find a bad review. Plus LG has been good to me.. I only wish TDK had more options

Believe that is one we use in one of our systems and it goes out all the time.

Panther, a lot of the time less known hardware manufacturers are much better anyway. I got my Wireless network cards that were some weird brand for like 14.00 a peice and they work like a charm.

Guess you take your chances though. I usually like smaller companies because they have better support/exchange policies.

Watch Comp USA if you have one near you. I got a 100 pack spindle for $20 (with a $20 rebate). They have sales like that all the time.

I have seen them for way cheap. You just have to wait for them to be getting rid of stuff. Then things go on sale.

Recieved my burner today, burned 2 file CD's at 16x without any problems at all..

Also took 2 movies (Martin Lawrence Comidy & Troy) copied them onto my hdd and burned them onto DVD. I can't believe these actually play in my home DVD player..

Time to copy/burn Martin Lawerence was under 30 min and troy was only about 1 hour to decrypt, shrkin and burn to DVD.

This DVD burner rocks so far and it was only $64.
