you know when you have an image and resize it, take for example the dragonfly one there. make it twice as big and it looks ok, make it bigger and it looks worse, make it smaller and its not clear etc. i.e. it's a raster image.

vectors are precise images beased around paths, you can make em in PS with the pen tool. the path can be resized infanately and keep sharp edges, i.e. the actual pixels are not getting bigger like a raster image, just the path.

most stuff with vectors will be done in Illustrator.

Ahh, I see. I hate that freakin' pen tool, mostly because I don't understand how to use it

What is illustrator? EDIT: I know it's adobe and a graphics program, just not what it's for specifically

& with a vector image u can BLOW it up to as big as u want & u still wont loose the quality. unlike a normal bitmap image it will all pixelate.

Does it at least work similar to Photoshop? It bites just trying to learn all there is about photoshop...I'd hate to have to learn another program

I guess I'll just have to get a demo of it...then if I like it, get it
