Ex-military to be denied gun ownership
2nd Amendment advocates warn it poses clear constitutional threat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: September 27, 2007 1:00 a.m. Eastern http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=57847 By Bob Unruh © 2007 WorldNetDaily.com The Gun Owners of America is launching an urgent campaign encouraging citizens to call their U.S. senators and ask them to oppose a bill that could be described as "disarmament by diagnosis." The legislation would allow a person's right to own a gun in the U.S. to be permanently removed under a wide range of circumstances. "You'd think that when rabid, anti-gun legislators like Sen. Charles Schumer and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy join together to pass anti-gun legislation, it would raise a few red flags," the alert says. "But these two New York Democrats are currently planning to roll over gun owners with H.R. 2640 – legislation which would bar you from owning guns if: You are a battle-scarred veteran suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; or as a kid, you were diagnosed with ADHD." Gun Owners Executive Director Larry Pratt told WND that those are just two of the circumstances that legitimately could be used under the pending proposal to permanently remove an individual's right to own a weapon in the U.S. Someone in counseling during a bitter divorce, a child who at one point gets into a scrape on a school yard and is put on Ritalin, or even someone given "counseling" for issues such as depression during recovery from an accident or work-related injury are some other situations that could trigger such "disarmament by diagnosis," he said. The plan, described in Congress as an expansion of the Brady Gun Bill that requires background checks for potential firearms purchasers, would require people who have such a diagnosis in their health record to be permanently banned from owning a gun. =========================================== me my self have been diagnosed with ADHD, and ill be damed if im gona let them take my right to have guns, and no1 else should stand for it ither, im calling my senator and voicing my oposition and i urge any1 else who wants to keep their right to keep and bear arms to do the same. |

I dont se anything wrong in that? Overhere there is a strict law prohibitin guns unless youre part of a shooting club.. So far it is working quite well..
Rarely any incidents with civilians resolving to use there gun for something.. I think the way it is here is better then the US way of gun ownership.. but that is a point of discussion offcourse, and the everlasting clash between Europeans and US ![]()

battle-scarred veteran suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder sounds good to me.
but the rest is fool them selves: *Someone in counsellings during a bitter divorce, do no good if there a gun owner already in the family before the divorce happens. * pure B/s: a child who at one point gets into a scrape on a school yard and is put on Ritalin.......mom and dad get told to give up their weapon due to their kids was joking about using them in the school yard, you know how many times a kid says they going to get even with another kid at school a lot to many to say, lets say over 4million kids a year. and most 98% don't follow through with it at all. * even someone given "counsellings" for issues such as depression during recovery from an accident or work-related injury are some other situations that could trigger such "disarmament by diagnosis," he said. yea right the last one is a total waste of time, i mean who in going to go over a person house and say give us your weapon you been in a accident or work-related injury you can't handle the weapons at this time. not like the police forcement already have to deal with drug users law breakers already then put this on them, $$$$$$$$$$ rise cost up. don't think it get pass at all. it more of a joke really when you think of it.
