making a new map or made a new map?
tell us about it here attached is a pic of may new map 'SB DoGgY WoGgY' gonna be a crazy CQB map when finished, but turn down ur vid settings ive not decided wht the middle is going to be like yet, i will just do what ever comes into my head at the time |

Really wanna drive people crazy? Do like I did in my coop Confusion map. I used the intersection pieces from the prison - 4 of them - and then connected them by tunnels (all of this is underground) to each other and only one way in and one way out. The connector tunnels either go above or below each other, I think there's 3 levels total I get more complaints from people that play that map cause they get lost and can't finish it!! LOL

i did have one long tunnel to the zone. Called it the hallway of death then i decided to make two more enterances cuz whoever got the zone first would win

im gonna test it but im taking stepd to help reduce vid lag. so far im only using 4 textures - terrain, w/house walls, roof and caue_a. everything is lined up and most surfaces are flat. there is going to be no paraspawns so no one will get that high up to see much action at anyone time. walls will restric views so the gfx card will not have to draw too much at a time. i always have a warning on my website and in the readme file about gfx lag if i think its going to be an issue.
i love maps that break the mould and are different and are unique, if ppl dont play em i dont mind, hell ive not even played on 1/2 of the maps i have made!!! i just like making them. lol i hardly even play the game, currently ive not played for about 6-8 weeks at least lol. u still making any maps AW? |

Stevie, you could also try that thing that I've seen people doing a lot lately - Check both No Voxels and No Shadows, turn fog on, set level to either 0 or 1, and make the color black. With out the terrain (you just get BLACK ground) it seems to help quite a bit. HAR has some pretty elaborate maps and with it set to those settings all seems to run ok.
As far as my vid settings, they are set to low and there are still some maps I go into that I have problems in - connection? This is about the only thing I have left to think it is - I've pretty much maxed out everything else: GeF3 Titanium 500 Vid card, Phillips Brilliance 180P 18.2inch LCD Flat Screen monitor (brand new) P4 1.7 gig processor 512 meg Ram 400 watt power supply - there's plenty of power left over 4 case cooling fans (still have one more to install) ISP? Cable.. this maybe where my problem lies.

sounds interesting m8, i may try it
i dunno why u would lag at all with a gf3, ive got a herc prophet with a kyro 2 chipset, which as u may or may not know aint that good, but i dont get vid lag on any maps. and i run a modem. |
