AMD Phenom II

Just picked up an AMD Phenom II 945 3.0GHz 95W Socket AM3 CPU for $160 from newegg a couple days ago during a sale.

So far I am very happy with this CPU because it works in my existing AM2+ MB and was dirt cheap. It was pretty big upgrade from my 2 year old 6000+. It runs cool with the stock fan and the multi-tasking is night and day. I also picked up an additional 4GB (8GB Total) of ram for $50 and a couple months ago got an ATi HD4850.

AMD may not be the fastest the last few years but damn they got some very decent stuff at some good prices. I never imagined I could buy a near top of the line graphics card or CPU for $150. I used to pay in excess of $500 for top of the line stuff.
