toys of distruction
built this an hour ago.
![]() it is a charge\discharge aperatus for capacitors. it will charge to a maximumn of 350Vdc in the red container thaere are 40 350v happysnap caps(disposeable camera capacitors) they are charged by the secondary transformer connected thru a bridge rectifier that i salvaged out of a PC power supply. the secondary transformer is fed by the main transformer that was salvaged from an old CNC machine. the caps are discharged thru a SCR that was taken out of a power module for a CNC machine. the SCR is triggered by a 35Vdc cap that is charged by the main transformer connected by a half wave rectifier and triggered by pushing the Red button, the charging is done by pushing the Black button. this is a clip of the sparking created by the discharge of the caps at 300Vdc, ya can hear the shockwave created by the arc on thr clip the clip is a little grainy due to i cant post a bigger zip than what i did. |
