Sound Issues

Here lately in the past month my sound has been acting up on my computer.I have volume control volume 2 notches up from my normal settings which is the max.The sound is working i know but its low as heck even in games.I even tried turning game volume all the way up but still lower than normal.I have latest computer updates and latest Direct X.

Weird thing is it only happens like this every so often.Sometimes it goes back to normal after so long when i restart my computer the sound comes back.I have attempted many restarts in the past with this problem and none seem to help it.

One thing i have did i know it cant be is improper shutdown due to BHD freezing(a bunch)

I have tried testing Direct Sound in my DXDIAG and all tests passed but they were low sounded.

My computer is an Windows XP and an Area 51 m7700 Area 51 Extreme Gaming Laptop!
