Ubuntu - OS Review

Here is my review of Ubuntu a open source/linux style OS. I decided I would give it a try and so I did.

My inital thought was that it's bad ass. Very nicely designed...and it's free...continous updates and easy to use. However, it isn't DOS based, or Windows file format either so nothing of Windows will work...I tried.

It's sorta like running OS X from Apple...accept they let you run programs with it. This does have everything you need. It has a "MS Word" so to speak, has a graphic design program and has IM. You can use the plugins and fill in the info of your IM accounts like yahoo, msn, etc... This feature reminds me of that Trillion.

Downside was installation was tricky and because of that I lost Windows...didn't help I did it on no sleep so I have no choice of going back to Windows. I'm stuck with this (even though it's far far far far far more stable than Windows). I never bought XP and probably wont until the new Windows is released that or I buy a new PC.

But if you are looking for something that isn't Windows, cheaper that Apple and actually very very cool try out Ubuntu.

On a scale of 1-10 this gets a 8.5 because I have all this Windows based software and no use for it.
