Yea they seem really cool. The few times ive been around one they seem fairly calm and responsive and they seem like they'll respect their master. I never had a dog before and i'm thinking about getting one. I was thinking about getting a collie but i understand you need to give them nearly 24 hours of attention. I defiantly do not want to get some random retard dog .. i'd like one that is smart and responsive and doesn't act like a tard like some of my friends have.
Trust me, i'm no stranger when it comes to animal care, ive had cats, birds, reptiles ... but like i said .. never had a dog. anyone know anything about them (boxers)? I think i'd rather get a purebred ... but what about male or female?

purebred male for a boxer. really great dogs. i have a few friends with them. very loving dogs to their masters.
golden retrievers are my favorites, very bright and friendly dogs.

Boxer's have a bit of a reputation for being really aggressive towards new folk or when they think their masters are in danger.
Although they'd make a great security dog, they're a bit risky around new people, especially small children. (Be sure to ask a Vet or a breeder first) I have a Golden Retriever as well, mother picked her up off a bridge during rush hour and brought the poor thing home. She's pretty much been happy ever since (at least the dog).
