How did you come about?

I've been kind of curious about how everyone got to the point where they are today. What I mean is how did you make your way to Novahq, when did you start playing Novalogic games? How where you introduced to them? How and why did you pick out the name you use today?

Well heres my story, I started out originally playing Novalogics flight sim F-16, when the person I played with who lived in my neighborhood showed me his new game DF2, then I just upgraded to the new games as they came out. When I played F16 my name was Airassassin, so it wouldn't have been appropriate for they DF series so I picked the name of my general, Trilogy, to wear in honor of him because he taught me so much about the game F16.

So what is your story?

I started playing Virtual Cop 2 5 years ago i think, Got a war game from Novalogic called "World of Combat 2000" Which included Armored Fist 2, F-22 and Commache 3. Then i bought Armored Fist 3, a Friend at school told me about Delta Force 1, i got delta force 2, then while playing i heard about Landwarrior. Then TFD. Joined UX on TFD then when BHD came out they moved to it, a member in UX a few years back told me about this site to download an update.

My Story.. lol

i started out DF: 2 my bother turn me onto it. then after i got all the serials of Delta force been hook on it till JOTR came out, now playing other games other then Novalogic.

1st name was HellSpawn {ETU} there was copy cats in DF:2 and seem some cheaters using my name try to change it to chief adf and other name, after i got DF: LW a buddy say to me you going to get all their games be a big head "chief" i started a squad up =ADF= it did not work out like i wish it did, some came to matches and other started to flame the squad a lot name calling it was short live, lasted 8mo and die off. so i change my name to Chief ADFP "ADFP" Stands for "All Delta Force Player". keep the name over 2.5yrs now

i mainly play solo now days with other but no more dealing with squads anymore, they call me up on Xfire IM i come join in the fun thats all.

did a search online for good site and found this great site was hook on it like a drug addict hook on drugs (Acid). been in love with this site and i come here read it like a news' paper online.

Well my older brother, he was playing dflw alot, and a few other games, while I really didnt do much with computers, execpt play sims, and onyl a bit of df. Then we got broadband . We decieded to check out multiplayer, which was good. Then we came across the demo for BHD, which we liked alot, so we bought BHD, and I was playing along in some server, and I had come across the map editor , and there was a few ppl in the server talking about this, I asked how they knew how to make a door explode, and one of them soon replied "www.dfhq.net has some good tutorials on stuff like that", I cant remember who said that tho, it was probally one of the admins you know

My next store neighbor played DF2 and introduced me to it, about a week later i enjoyed the game so much i went out and bought dflw with the name of "CowboyDust" i then became quite the player and got very interested in map making. After a couple of name changes...( KillerCowboy, KC..Convict..) I decided to stop by dfhq and get the newest map editor updates along with some other tools. Soon i requested signatures and wanted to make my own, i sorta stuck around and listened and thats how proxy was born lol

I feel old around all you who started with LW...

I was over at a friends house for a New Years party (burgers, beers, good times), and he says, hey check this game out. It was DF1, and close to when it came out. Loved it so much, I got it. Then got DF2 as soon as it came out, then got DFLW when it came out.

I came here because I had met Stevie back when he introduced his Z values, for which he is eternally famous, and counted as a savior amongst LW mappers everywhere. I think DFHQ was just starting out then...dropped by every once in a while to see the new designs. Then I just kinda quit coming. Fast forward to shortly after it became novahq, and I'm back for sig help.

It seems like I always run to Stevie when I need help, isn't that right Stevie? You'll forever be my hero for helping me get Dreamweaver.

My name, I dunno where it came from...all I know is I've been Dr. B since 3 days after I started playing DF1

Got DF1 free with a game my brother purchased, skipped DF2, next moved onto Land Warrior, from there i started hanging out at DFArena, i think it was steve that introduced me to this place when it opened when we were working on a mod. Lurked around here for a while, then applied for a staff job here.

Name originates from when i first started posting at various forums, i wanted something unique so after hunting around through members directories i setled on Blackbelt. To this day i havent seen anyone else go by that name.

[section from my old website]

I only started in 2000 after playing Delta Force 2 on a friends computer. Not having the internet meant single player only which is dull in my opinion for pretty much every game.

The apealing part of DF2 to me was that you can create your own maps/levels, so you get to control the game and set it how you want. A refreshing change from console gaming.

After a search for information about map making on DF2 on the internet I found a few sites that had other maps for download, so armed with a fist full of Floppy Disks, they were downloaded and saved on my own computer, and intern extending the playability and life of DF2.

Then Delta Force Land Warrior came out which is pretty much responsible for starting my online gaming experience and thousands of hours of my time and this site. However I still didn't have the internet when I first bought this game.

There was a great site on the internet at this time run by PanchoVilla and HeavyWacko that had loads of DF:LW maps to download, and aslo accepted maps which they intern reviewed and put on their site. So i started a daily process of making a map and sticking it on disk and making the most of the university internet connection and submitting my maps to their site.

After a short while I thought why not do this myself. So still using the university internet I built my first ever webpage on geocities :/ which is free and to be honest has serverd me well during this time despite having a cheesy pagebuilder.

As many geocities websites it was poor and had tons of silly animated things on it. Named UK Delta Force it later progressed and the site is still there http://www.geocities.com/ukdeltaforce so feel free to take a look and have a good laugh If you click the link and get a Blue Screen Of Death, erm don't worry the website really is that colour!

Somehow despite the scary website I made, a guy named Scott aka Panther saw some potential! And after some persuasion we opend up a real Delta Force resource website which was christened The Delta Force Headquarters or DFHQ in 2001.

...

well you know the rest

games:

df1, df2, dflw, dftfd, dfbhd, dfbhdts, jo, joe

loved DF2 to bits, but mainly map editing, cause i was on 56k (and didnt even know about clans). i got LW on the day it came out and the first thing i did was build a map, even before loading the game hehe. i was totally addicted to LW from the day it came out until TFD came out. i think since TFD came out ive played NL games for about 1 or 2 hours (in 2 -3 years?)

as for name well i've only had 2 names really. originally StevieB for about 3 years i think. i think a lot of DFLW players/mappers would remember me from then

My name is Steve but my surname doesn't begin with B, so its kinda strange i guess, but it's something my mate's bro used to call me. also weird that other ppl call me this from time to time for no reason.

Currently know as [PANIC] on the battelfeld these days. a bit more of a tough name

I prefer Steve on the forum, i think it's more personal / friendly / less distant or something like that

I started off at Delta Force Land Warrior Demo and got the hang of it as fun as hell then i went and saw my friend had DF2 and i was telling him how fun DF3 LW was so i finallly got it then let him borrow it then 2-3 years ago i think maybe one i bought him his own copy anyways back to the story i played with my friends of MED Team then joined as a all medics team for COOP then soon i was on *WP* while on MED since MED was a COOP Team and *WP* Everything but that like TDM and TKOTH *WP* Was then soon *WP* which is known as WolfPack split up many of us stayed friends and then formed 2 friend squads name SK-Silent Skillers and DKS Dark Knight Soldiers then they both broke up me and this other 2 members or 3 went to DS Dark Soldiers which soon changed its name to HH then i left them and went to DH after they split up then DH split up soon lmao!!! I then wanted to form my own Squad over those last few times. I never liked DF2 over so many dam cheaters and its bad graphics so i went to BHD because my friend who is the other leader of *CP* said it was much better and it turned out i lost my good skills for LW and reunited some better with BHD. I played DF1 and DF TFD Some but not alot. I never understood cheaters till BHD really caught a few in LW but also never understood sniping real good till BHD made it better by giving better guns and bonuses!!! BHD had vehicles that didnt lag it was based on a war and was more graphical!!! I then played Team Sabre which was even better!!! I still play Team Sabre and not alot but some of regular BHD.

Well it turns out i posted on NovaHQ over those years some but not alot till like a year or 2 ago when i got into posting around making new friends and learning some of the cool new things i know now. I found cool people to hang with like the 4 admins of NovaHQ here!!! Yall have one of the best sites ever and coolest sites!!!

Smile

I started out on Delta Force 1 after my son bought me the game, then I progressed to Delta Force 2, Land Warrior, Task Force Dagger and to, (in my humble opinion), the best of the DF games Black Hawk Down.

Although I now have Joint Operations I still think that B.H.D. is the very best that Novalogic made.

I do know it seems like I've been playing a Df title forever lol!

Warm Regards

I was somewhere around 10 years old when i started to get into the computer. I started to get on aol and talk to friends and things like that. So my dad has always been sorta a small gamer. He started doing the original quake and doom games. He bought this game called df2 when it came out and played it a couple times. Never toached it again. Df2 sat on our shelf for a couple of months. I was bourd one day and decided to play a game. I picked out df2. I started to play the single player and really liked it. I got my dad into it and we had a race to see who could beat the whole single player first. Well he won. But anyways one day i was playing and i saw multiplayer on it. And i wondered why they would but multiplayer on it, only 1 person could play a computer game at a time lol. I clicked it and it brought me to all this stuff i didnt know what to do with. So somehow, i got to the NW games and joined one. And that was it. I spend literally days and days playing multiplayer. I used the default name Blackhawk for a long time.

I heard about these ppl in df2 talking about a game called lw. IT was only a few weeks old. So i went out and bought it and started playing that. Didnt like it at first, but i played it alot more and liked it alot more. Got better and better at CQB and joined a squad called **GTF**. They where a euro squad. Bunch of older guys like in ther 30+. I was the youngest one there. Well I played alot more and more and got alot better. Soon enough, I am beating my whole squad easily. No challenge. Well sooner or later, they accuse me of cheating. Because of my age and they dont think a younger age player can ever be better than them. That really pissed me off because i was basically one of the founders there. I joined them when they where around with like 3 members. And **GTF** are still around today acually. n00b squad though. I was known as McArthur around there. You can visit them at www.Global-task-force.com

Well that was over and I eventually forgot about it and started to get into stats. Sooner or later, i joined a squad called MSS, Marine Scout Snipers and met roshi there. a cqb squad. Well by the time i was in that squad, i was known as insomnia o_O

I acually got the name, insomnia from the back of a cd case. IT was the name of a song that i liked. Then later on, i really knew that was the name for me because i used to play lw all day and stay up all night long playing it. No sleep at all.

Well MSS evetually disbanned and i just played normally, joined a squad named k2. Kannabis Killaz. Very big in LW. Score got me into it. Kept my name insomnia throught that. Well right about around that time, EDGE started to visit this strange website called dfhq.net o_O. He slowely started posting there. Eventually, i started posting there. Weird .

So ive been at dfhq.net ever since but it is now known as, novahq.net. I went through a couple of different accounts here but finally stuck with insomnia and just got my name changed around a couple of times.

Recently, i decided to change my name from insomnia to TeeJay. Dont know why, just wanted something different.

THats my story
