Problems with XP

i have a Geforce 4200 MX, and when i try running it on XP, it says 'Device Cannot Run'

even though i disabled my onboard graphics and removed the 'Restore System' feature, and deleted the drivers, still no effect, but works perfectly on 98.

I tried installing a Geforce 4 MX 440 into one of my older Xp machines. The problem was that it froze eveytime that I was about to go into XP. It turned out to be that the GFX card was a peice of crap and I had all this stuff I had to do because it was just a peice of crap. You did the proper steps, there isn't much that I can do since you have done all the diagnostic testing :0

1.) uninstill the on broad video-card then reboot backup after instill new card software then reboot backup. i done it and thats what It says in the booklet you get

you must uninstill the on-board graphics software!!! other wise. it don't know what it is at all. the 2 softwares are trying to over rule each other. Read the booklet it came with it says how to do it the right way.
