dflw problem

when i start land warriors the crosshair is locked but my mouse pointer is active if i click on any selection its like pressing alt tab keys i go back to the desktop and when
i click on it in the task bar it takes me to what ever i selected
and the game runs sluggish i recently formatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows xp and have done all my updates for windows and dflw is any one else having this problem

ok i found the problem but now i need the fix installing a fresh copy fixes the problem bbuuutttt!!! when i install the update from novalogic i get the problem above (see dflw problem) and the same problem when i install the dflw exp map pack and not do the update has anyone had this problem
