Wow, that's amazing that you have enough bandwidth to do that. What speed you have?

I was going to do that with the 16mb fiber here but they cap the upload at 800k, ghetto.

I got a Comcast business 16/2mb connection.. At first I didn't think it would be enough to host this website and the others I host but it's been more than enough. I've not heard anyone complain about it being slow or down since I started hosting at home, until today when it was down for the morning. It's also the connection that I use for all my web surfing, downloading, gaming and xbox live etc. So your 800k would probably be more the sufficient.

Comcast offers 50/5mb for only a few dollars more a month but I cannot find a reason to upgrade right now.. maybe when ghq comes

That's what surprised me, I mean the download speeds here are great. Of course I am capped at 1.5 right now so that's probably why.

I was going to try doing it for my site but I will have streaming video so I doubt it is going to work that well for me.

Of course it depends on the popularity of the videos.

We actually host most of our large media files and large downloads etc at godaddy. I signed up for a shared account when they were having a special and got a dedicated IP and like 2,000gb of bandwidth for $5 per month.

Hosting at home > Dedicated > Virtual Dedicated > Shared
