df 1 trouble

why can't i log on to df1 lobby to play or host when i do i get a blank screen am running msn dsl with win 98. did not have this trouble with 56k.only when i swicthrd over to msn dsl some body tell how to fix this problem thx.

not really sure whay it would do that and i haven't come across that one before

i'm just thinking if there was any kind of firewall installed at the same time you upgraded? maybe the ISP's software has one... but you would have probably seen it.

do you still have the 56k modem? maybe just do a quick swap over again just to check that is still working... never know if it's a acoincidence.

all other internet stuff working fine? other games?

This should be a simple fix... if you have a DSL modem, which you do, then you could have a firewall in the modem itself. You have to manually tell the modem to route all traffic to your computer, or to allow certain ports. I recommend routing all traffic to your computer and using a user-friendly software firewall to configure ports.
