i bout became permenant soprano singer yesterday.
i work in small apliances at the thrift store so i get to test out all of the household electricles.
well i was testing out 1 of those yard vacums, the ones that look like a leef blower only larger, well i plug it in and turn it on and it sounds pretty crappy like it has something in it or something so i check it and there is nothing in it, i cant see anything wrong with.

well i proceed to try it again and just hold the switch down hopeing it would clear out,,,,big mistake, for all of a sudden it shreeks like a banchie and then a big BOOM like a shotgun going off and the impeller blows a hole in the side of the housing and skins the front of me pants and inbeds itself into a cardboard box 15ft beside me, scared the living hell out of me.

i still havnt found all of the impeller

out of interest did you ever try your potential fix to the rail gun erosion problem?

some times fixing thing can back fire on one self lol

be lucky it had bad aim or other wise you be done for, it could have hit your neck.

not yet, been kindof buisy with work and all.

still gota build a better powersuply the 1 i got only puts out round about 600VDC and round 10 or 15A
i got the charger down just gota get a some caps to charge, whole thing the charger is bout the size of my fists and weighs only 2 or 3oz and will charge a 15Kv cap in 20sec and runs off a 12v PC powersupply battery, the caps and accelerator is what makes the weight i can make a nice magnetic gun that will shoot a 3\8 steel ball thru a stove pipe at 20ft and will only weigh a measly 8-10lb.

i already blew a hole thru the stove in the garage where i was working on it at, it went thru the pipe and riochet around the room a sec or 2, bout got me, lol.
ya should see the 1 that MIT and american anti gravity has, it will weigh at a whoping 100lb or more and takes up an entire room almost, the 1 i got is easily portable.
they got to overly complicated using optical triggers and state of the art charger systems.
the charger i got uses a 2n3055 transistor to pulse the 12v power to the flyback and will put out 15Kv and is no more than the 2oz in weight,the caps i got is 20something 300v camera flash caps out of disposable cameras in a series paraell configuration(10 in series and 10 in paraell) the barrel i got is just standard 3\8id PVC tube and has a coil of #18AWG 2in long and 3 layers deep, this paticular gun isnt a rail gun but a coil gun that works on the same princaple as a solinoid.
the coil will get hot, ecpecialy pulsing 600v thru it, ive hit things at over 90ft with it and it makes no sound whatsoever.

i still gota build the rail part fer me rail gun, the small 1 i had didnt live long being it was just 220v wire on 2 binding posts.

the most intresting EM gun ive built shot hollow aluminum slugs at speed fast enough to put a red mark on ya using only 200VDC witch was the coolest 1 of all fer aluminum isnt supposed to be affected by magnetism.
the way it worked was ya sliped the hollow slug over a long metal bar with a large coil at the back and when ya pulsed the power thru the coil it would set up a magnetic field in the long bar and excited a electrical current in the aluminum slug witch in turn set up its own magnetic field that oposed the magnetic field in the bar and would fire off using the repulsion forces set up by the 2 fields.
i plan to experiment with it a little more in the future when i get time.
