Internet Disconnects for no reason...

For some reason about 2-3 months ago my internet (Netzero) disconnects on me for no aparent reason at all.

If im online longer than 3-4 hours it dosconnects

or

if i got away for about 10 Minutes it disconnects...

Netzero is my internet if u didn't see that above...

can someone help me???

call them, ask them wtf, if they say its there policy then make threats that you'll use some one elses service

Probably something on their end, or in the modem. Other than that i can only think you may have a virus.

I had some problem bout 2 months ago but with my cable provider

they told me to :

1- Check Router
A- if Got router Bypass and see if you ahve same problem
2- If have same problem Check cables and wiring
3- if nothing wrong ask Provider for New Modem

what type of internet service you paying for? ADSL, Dialup,T1 what is it.

for dialup its normal get disconnected all the time 2-6hrs is normal. there is DSL for 14.94mo service for a year.

if you can't connect at all like you try 4-6 times it can be there isp server that maybe doing it check with them see if they know of it, if not they will check it out.

all ask them to help you check the setting for the router or modem some things need to be disable some ISP server are not set to do thing and may get you disconnected.

yea chief i got dialup... (Netzero)

and i tried to get some kind of DSL but i couldn't get it to work where i live cause my dad wouldn't beleive me that it was that they had to attach something to our security system to get it to work...

but i will also check up on the netzero site and see if they have anything in the FAQ's about it...

and chief thanks for telling me bout the thing about ti disconnecting every 2-6 hours...

are you using the windows dialup networ thing to connect to net zero? if ya are check the DUN properties and see if the disconnect after idle ## munits is checked, if it is it will disconect if you dont send or recive after a period of time.
