cool edit or adobe audition are both sound editors that have multitrack ability ... depends on what you are trying to combine...like a deejay type mix or are you sampling sounds and producing your own music??

**EDIT** syntrillium software sold cool edit to adobe last year
and as we all know adobe software is always top notch ...sony soundforge is prolly one of the best sound editors out besides wavelab BUT i dont believe either one of those has multitrack capability ... i use soundforge to edit sounds and adobe to multitrack unless i use NTRAX v3.3
