Textbooks on CD?

Good idea or bad idea?

Depends what they are really for. I've learned lot of my languages btw listening to CDs I could never enjoy John Grisham's Novels on it.

I dunno, I was just thinking about it because this History and Philosophy of Religion book really sucks. The guy wastes too much time trying to sound smart.

Cool

I don't think that CD's can replace books as a medium of learning although they can be an aid to it. We have been reading books for hundreds of years and absorbing knowledge as a result and for some reason for me at least, the writen word is far easier to assimilate and remain in memory for future reference.

With a work of fiction by reading it instead of listening to it a persons imagination can stimulated as they try to form a picture of characters and places in a book.

Regards

I think for my quiz on Wed I am just going to do some online research because this book is really pissing me off. It has a bunch of nonsense in it. It takes over 100 pages to explain something that could be easily explained in under 5 pages.

i never tried it .. but i would fancy myself more of a visual learner...

like..lets say when i watched this special on the discovery channel about guns in WWII ... i can learn what was going on ... but if i had to read a huge report on it ... i probly wouldn't remember it ...

im not a slow learner or anything .. i CAN learn by reading stuff easly .. but more easy if it was presented to me in some way of saying it or showing it to me on a whiteboard ..

Stating the basic beliefs, religious devisions within the same beleif. Stuff like that. He tries to butter it up and make himself sound intelligent. I don't doubt he knows his stuff but he sure can't write worth beans. I wouldn't buy his book if it was not one I have to use at school.
