OK Guys...got a problem with my forum. Alrite, what happened is I chose a template on my forum, then I kinda deleted the template, so now all I get is:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not open (template name) template config file

DEBUG MODE

File : functions.php

How can I get rid of this...? I could just make a new forum, but that takes way too dang long to create all of my categories and stuff again. Is there a way that I can alter my profile without logging in? Or is there a way to reinstall my forum and just transfer those categories and stuff over to the new forum?

Hmmm ... by your original message, looks like functions.php is not getting a value in, talking very broadly.

I guess you never made a backup??

Erm no LOL...Is there like a file I can copy that will take all of the categories and forums and put it on another forum?

are you taking free forum hosting, or are you hosting? ... cuz if u can see the actual code we need to see it...if u can acces the mysql tables go to the config...change the templates in the table.

i know whats gone wrong, you set your forums up to use "x" template, then you deleted "x" template, so you are getting an error saying "x" template cannot be opened.... its happened 2 me before, JUst put the "x" template back on , and should work fine... then just change default theme too subsilver again... or whatever...

Nope...b/c even when I do put it back in the forum templates folder...I still have to go in manually with my admin account and add the theme to the forum ...Guess Im screwed, guess I just have to make a new forum for the freakin 3rd time :grrrr: LOL

If anybody knows if there is a way to copy my categories and forums to the new forum...let me know pleez and ty

are you able to access your mysql database?

This has happened to me and all I did was delete my cookies (if your set to log in automatically your theme preference is stored in a cookie).

Then i went into the database and just manually changed the theme preference for my user to a theme that exists.


I also modified a file so that the theme was hard coded so that no matter what the cookie or user preference said, a theme was used that I knew was installed.
